What is the difference between Academic English and General English courses?
A General English course will train you to use English in your daily life. Through an EAP course, you will learn a more formal use of the language for studying at any western-style university. Our EAP class will help develop skills such as academic vocabulary, critical reading and writing, clear pronunciation skills, and more.
How will I learn Academic English skills?
Our English for Academic Purposes course focuses on improving your core English listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills to fulfil the academic study requirements. Through classroom lectures, practical activities, and assignments, we will help you learn these linguistic skills required to study at any university.
How long will it take to complete the English for Academic Purposes course?
The duration for completing the EAP course at WSE Dubai is 12 weeks. Every week will focus on specific areas of reading, writing, speaking, and listening activities, which will be highly useful at universities or educational institutes.
I am a General English student at WSE. Can I also enrol for the Academic English course?
Yes, we allow our General English course students to enrol in our English for Academic Purposes course if they have the required English proficiency. To be eligible for our EAP class, the student must have an Upper-intermediate of English or needs to complete a minimum of 6 weeks in our Intermediate General English.
